This is a free software plugin for digital audio workstations (DAWs) developed by beyerdynamic. It transforms your professional beyerdynamic studio headphones into a virtual reference studio for precise mixing and mastering, even if you’re working in a regular room without acoustic treatment. 

When listening through headphones, sound is perceived differently than through studio monitors—the stereo center can seem unstable, and the panorama too wide. HEADPHONE LAB corrects this by simulating the sound of studio monitors and the room, providing a more natural spatial image, depth, and precision in the mix.

Calibrates the frequency response of compatible headphones to a neutral studio profile for precise mixing and mastering decisions. Simulates the sound of studio speakers using an advanced crossfeed model that accounts for time and level differences between channels. Optional room emulation adds a sense of space, closer to a real acoustic environment. Head width and inter-ear distance can be entered for more precise sound source localization.
