有些磁带采样了两到三次，速度略有不同，噪声降噪设置也不同（B、C和无。大多数磁带在磁带爱好者中都非常受推崇（它们至今仍在流通！）。磁带类型包括四种主要类型——I、II、III和IV。这款牌组历史悠久，以其可靠性和性能著称。

这套录音提供了一种不常被模仿的磁带声音。卷带的声音可以很棒，在最高速度下使用高质量的录音机和磁带时，它对录制声音产生的任何影响都可能变得非常微妙。人们仍然寻找这种效果，因为它有细微的增强效果。磁带的声音则不那么细腻。你会得到一个高频滚奏，通常从10kHz左右开始，所以依然有足够的高频，但在最高频率有明显的低通效果。

你会得到一些饱和和谐波，还有衰减。这些特性因磁带而异（尤其是不同类型之间），大多数磁带会多次使用，速度不同（唱机有变速控制，可在正常速度上或低于正常12%范围内调节），并采用杜比降噪设置，所以这里的声音种类非常丰富。

你可以把这套设备看作我的电子管收音机，因为这东西对音色非常有帮助。这种音色比高端卷轴录音更明显，也更偏向低保真，虽然这里的部分节目表现得比较细腻。所以，就像我的电子管广播系列一样，你会听到从细腻音色到低保真风格的多种风格，但当然，这些都属于磁带风格！

最后但同样重要的是，库里还附带了Max Ponomaryov（又名azzimov）制作的优秀定制皮肤！N3和N4都有皮肤。请查看上面的照片，看看它们！N3 皮肤允许你通过点击 GUI 上的按钮切换每一盘磁带（遗憾的是 N4 不支持）。

Some tapes were sampled two or three times, at slightly different speeds and with different noise reduction settings (B, C, and none). Most of the tapes are/were highly regarded among cassette enthusiasts (they’re still out there!). Tape types included all four main types- I, II, III, and IV. The deck has a rich history and is very well known for its reliability and performance.

This set provides a type of tape sound that isn’t so often emulated. Reel tape can sound great, and at the highest speeds with high quality decks and tape, any effect it imparts to the sounds recorded to it can become very subtle. People still seek out this kind of effect for it’s subtle enhancing qualities. The cassette sound is much less subtle. You get a high frequency roll off that usually starts around 10khz, so you still have plenty of treble but a distinct low pass effect in the highest frequencies.

You get some saturation and some harmonics, along with the roll-off. All of those qualities vary from tape to tape (and especially across the different types), and most tapes were used multiple times with different speeds (the deck has a vari-speed control that can be adjusted within a range of 12% above and below normal) and Dolby noise reduction settings used, so you have a really big variety of sounds here.

You could think of this set as similar to my tube radio sets, because this stuff is great for tone. The tone is more obvious than you’d get with high end reel recordings, and more lo-fi, although a few of the programs in here can be subtle. So, like with my tube radio series, you get a wide range of flavors going from subtle tone to lo-fi, but of course, these are on the tape side of the spectrum!

Last but not least, the library comes with excellent custom skins by Max Ponomaryov, aka azzimov! There are skins for both N3 and N4. Check the images above to see them! The N3 skins allow you to switch between every tape by clicking buttons right on the gui (unfortunately not possible with N4).

Here’s a video that demos the different tapes and the N3 version of the skin. Keep in mind that in N4 you can’t just switch the programs using those buttons, and you’ll have to use N4’s menu list to select t hem- but the audio effect is still the same! Video also made by Max (thanks a lot max!!!):
